Aim: Provide a theoretical, experimental and practical foundation for substituting fossil coke with Cortus biocoke in the steel making process. This results in a reduction of the major emissions coming from fossil-based process coal and coke in the steel making process.

Results: Cortus biocoke have been investigated in lab scale with promising results. The next step is performing tests in pilot scale.
